Admission Dates and Deadlines

Important dates for the admission sittings in Queensland for the remainder of 2024:

• Brisbane admission sittings
• Rockhampton admission sittings 
• Townsville admission sittings
• Cairns admission sittings

Please be advised the admission dates are set by the Honourable Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Queensland and are published on the Court website once they have been determined. Typically there are four admission sittings in the first half of the year (January to June) and five admission sittings in the second half of the year (July to December).

The Supreme Court releases the Daily Law List on the Courts website at approximately 5pm the day before admission therefore, applicants and the Board are not aware what time each application will be heard until the list has been released.

Payment of the Board's fee for consideration of your application

Applicants will receive an email from no-reply@bpoint.com.au requesting payment of the Board's fee.  This email be issued to the email address included on their Form 1, and will contain a link to arrange payment of the Board’s fee by debit/credit card to be processed through a secure BPoint payment portal. 

Once your payment is approved, you must ensure you save a copy of the receipt for your records, and exhibit a copy of your receipt to your affidavit of compliance as evidence of compliance with Rule 13(3)(b) of the Supreme Court (Admission) Rules 2004. 

If you swear/affirm your affidavit of compliance before receiving the BPoint link, you should at least depose in your affidavit that you intend paying the Board’s fee in compliance with Rule 13(3)(b).  In these circumstances, once you have paid the Board’s fee, you MUST provide a copy of the receipt to the Board via email for inclusion in the Board’s file for your application.  

Please be advised the Board's staff issue payment links by close of business (5pm), 31 days prior to the sittings. The Board's staff are unable to issue payment links prior to this date therefore, please only contact the Board if you do not receive a link by close of business 31 days prior to the sittings. 

If you are seeking admission and your firm wishes to make a bulk payment (i.e. for more than one applicant), please see the following options available:

• CHEQUE: Provide a cheque made out to ‘Legal Practitioners Admissions Board’. The cheque may be provided by post or over the counter to Reception at Law Society House. The cheque should be accompanied by a list of applicants (may be provided via email) for which the payment is applicable. Please provide each applicant’s full name as per their Form 1.
• DEBIT/CREDIT CARD: Email the Board a list of applicants for which the payment is applicable (please provide each applicant’s full name as per their Form 1) and the Board’s staff will contact the firm to arrange payment by debit/credit card over the phone. 

A receipt will be issued via email to the relevant person at the firm, which can then be forwarded to each applicant. 

Admission Fees

Our fees and charges typically increase on 1 July each year. On 1 July 2024, our fees and charges were indexed by zero per cent (i.e. remain unchanged from 2023-24) in line with Government’s indexation policy. You can contact us to find out details about specific fees, charges or prices.
